there should be a skill installed in the alexa app.   try disable then enable it again.   other than that, there is not much you can do about it since it sounds like the problem is at their end.

I have the same issue in the 'group' I created with them being out of sync by just a few seconds. It is annoying when I'm in a spot in the house and get it from both directions.  My group is just called Upstairs and always has been but the out of sync has always been an issue.  :-(

I have an Echo Show.  The past few weeks, I will ask it to play a certain morning show.  It will pay the ads then no sound however it shows it is playing as it shows a Stop/Pause for it on the screen but again, no sound. Can hear the ads fine as well when I asked it to play music from SiriusXM it came right now.   I have unplugged it but still does it.

Is there a way to trigger a routine when a specific device connects to my home WiFi?

I'm looking to trigger a different alarm routine whenever my GF sleeps over so she doesn't want to kill me getting woke at 4am..  I'd like to trigger her alarm routine automatically when her phone 'ie MAC address' connects to my WiFi

Clearly I consistently forget

Amazon Echo Discussion / Re: Ring my phone/contacts on Alexa

Some time ago, Amazon limited Alexa phone calls to 10 contacts. It used to be unlimited.

See this page from Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GHKNDEFH7JCKX4DB#:~:text=As%20you%20make%20phone%20calls,%2Dto%2DPhone%20contacts%20list.

When your Alexa-to-Phone Contacts list is full
Use the Alexa app to add, remove, or update Alexa-to-Phone contacts.

Open the Alexa app.
Select More, then Settings.
Select Communication.
Select Manage Contacts.
Select Alexa-to-Phone Contacts.

I can no longer use Ring My Phone, because it only lists contacts I don't want on Alexa anymore, and not my own contact. I can neither edit nor remove any other contacts. Although I appear in my own list of contacts on Alexa, it does not see me.

OK,  I changed the name from"Both" to "Both Devices" and now it Works.
Maybe Group names have to be more than 4 characters.

SOLVED.

I can play the Radio Station separately on 2 DOTs, but they are out of synch.
So I created a Group with the 2 DOTs and Named the Group "Kitchen and Bathroom" and it works.
Then I renamed the Group to "Both", but now it won't work.
Renamed it back to "Kitchen and Bathroom" and it works.
WHY???  Is "Both" a do-not-use name?

Amazon Echo Discussion / Re: Alexa and Matter devices
« Last post by jwlv on April 23, 2024, 08:10:20 pm »
Matter is a "new" protocol for IoT devices that several of the major tech players are supporting (e.g. Amazon, Apple, Google). In a way, it's kind of like Zigbee (25 years old), but newer. Right now, there isn't much you can do with Matter. But a lot of devices you have probably support it, and as you update your Alexa app and Echo firmware, you'll likely see more of it. Besides just knowing it exists, there's nothing you need to know or do about it. I'm not sure if Amazon Sidewalk is based on Matter. I'm guessing it probably is.

if everything is working without any problems, then matter does not matter.   I would ignore the notification.  To answer your question, I think the best you can do is to go to the device's own app and see when it received the latest update.   If it updated about the time you received the notification, then you found the device.    Otherwise, I know of no other way, someone else might.
