Trouble with AWS account when trying to add "Ask Google" skill
« on: January 25, 2017, 01:46:35 pm »
So I'm trying to install the "Ask Google" skill described elsewhere in this forum and am having trouble with the AWS account needed to install it. I've established an account using the email address my Echo Dot is linked to, but when I try to Lambda under "configure triggers" per the instructions, I cannot find "Alexa Skill Set" and there's no way to add it.
What am I doing wrong?

The Alexa skill trigger is only available when you have the region set to US East (N. Virginia) or EU (Ireland). Did you set the region to one of these before creating the Lambda function?

Sounds like you're trying to get Alexa to search across Google. The link below will show a PC application driven by Alexa to simultaneously search several search engines and return images, text, video etc to screen ... all from a single query to Alexa.
