Issuing grouping Smart plugs with Alexa (random occurrence)
« on: December 11, 2023, 05:20:37 pm »
Hello,

I've had Amazing Alexa for about 4-5 years and I have the Echo 4th Gen and another Alexa Echo the older version
( both versions are up to date)....
I have a bunch of lights that I have group together, I have two in my living room grouped as The Matrix  (one plug  is labeled Computer lights and the other one is labeled living room lights)
As of today when I got home from work I said "Alexa turn on the matrix" like I normally would and Alexa is saying "matrix doesn't support that"

Also I have a hallway light that's connected with the computer light and living room light and that's grouped as (All lights) and when I tell Alexa to turn off all lights, I get the same response (all lights doesn't support that).

All the lights work individually if I call them out one by one they all turn on and off via Alexa, but in groups its not working... They are all connected via the smart life plugs, I went on smartlife app and they are working there also.

But for some reason in groups it just doesn't want to work...
They were just working this morning when I left for work, and last night when I was going to bed. I use the group commands very often so I'm baffled why it stopped working, and even more baffled on how to fix it.

Any help or ideas would definitely be appreciated.....

Things I did so far:
So far I deleted the groups and tried to recreate and regroup the lights but that didn't work.
I went on the smart life app and verified that the lights are there and are working accordingly...
Ive unplugged Alexa for 30 seconds hoping the reset would correct the issue...

Any help would be greatly appreciated i feel so defeated and frustrated atm...

usually, if it's been working then stops, I would hold off doing anything about it for at least a day.   Most of the time it will fix itself.   I might do a power cycle on the router but no more than that.

I was just reading in the different reddit subs that others have been having the same problem and it fixed itself.   The problem must have been with amazon.
