"Pause" not being recognised. Was working before.
« on: October 23, 2018, 04:41:27 pm »
I have my Fire TV linked to my Alexa system and I use it for playing local audiobooks I own.
Before the somewhat recent update I could say:
"Alexa Play" and the current audiobook would play or pause if it was already playing.
or
"Alexa Pause" which would behave exactly the same as saying "play"

Since the latest update a while ago my Echos seem to have forgotten the meaning of the word "pause."
That is when I say "Alexa Pause" or "Alexa pause Fire TV" Alexa responds "I'm sorry, I don't know how to do that." But the response to "Play" has not changed."

I do not know what has changed but I would like to have the behavior back to the way it was before.

Thanks for any ideas.

Note: I have four Echos and the reported behavior is exactly the same on all of them.

I think a big update happened today.  Nothing much was working earlier today, and now it all seems normal including "pause" command.  Hope that is the same for you.

Nope. It is still not working.

When I say, "Alexa Pause" Alexa responds, "I'm sorry, I don't know how to do that."
But if I say "Alexa play." It works fine.
