Reminders on phone app now displayed on Samsung

Today for the first time any reminders that I put on my Echo that come due today are coming onto my Samsung Note 8 via a locked screen notification from the Alexa app and then I'm given the instruction to dismiss them on the app.  Is this something new or have I just missed this before?  I find it handy as I'm often not home for some of my reminders. I did get a software update from Samsung today so maybe it is them.

I'm pretty sure I remember them coming up on my Galaxy S7.  Just depends on if you have notifications enabled for the Alexa app.
