trying to set up my new echo with windows 10 followed all the direction and when when to network settings amazon-xxx never appears any ideas

Is your windows 10 pc connected to your router wi-fi or Ethernet cable?
If Wi-Fi you should only need to click on the Wi-Fi icon in the bottom right corner of your windows desktop.

yes it is set to my router wifi but tried wifi icon and still no amazon-xxx

Move your echo as close as possible to your PC.
