Can you add Gmail to Alexa to read new emails?

It would be nice if Alexa alerted for new emails and asked if it should be read. Just a though :)

there are several skills that will read emails but you cannot get notifications of new emails read.  some of those skills requires their own email client from the play store.   some of them are astrobot, trove, newton (not free) and several others

Well if you connect an echo to your phone as BT speaker. Then you will hear the sound it makes when you have new gmail from your echo, THEN, use the email reader skill.

That's what I will do as work around for the meantime but pretty sure echo devs can add this feature.

And to satisfy you more you can use a custom sound alert for your gmail like 'you got mail'. LOL pretty sure zedge has that.
