Echo Show doesn't like short passwords?
« on: November 27, 2017, 09:05:21 am »
Got a Show for my office, but set it up at home over the holiday weekend. Allgood.

Brought to office and when trying to connect to our wifi, "connect" stays grayed out. It seems (and I've tested) that because our password is only seven characters, it thinks it doesn't have enough to enter?

Let's assume it's beyond my reach to change the office wifi.

I've searched far and wide and haven't found an answer to this one...

What security type is the office WiFi, if it is WPA/WPA2 PSK then the specification says that the password should be at least 8 characters and a lot of devices won't connect if the password is less than 8 characters.
WEP allows shorter passwords but hopefully your office isn't using this as it is extremely insecure.

It's WPA2, but somehow our password is 7 characters.

There already are a lot of threads about this. I remember it has something to do with changing your router's security. You have to change something in router setting.
