Wake up Alarm and hue lights blinking
« on: October 03, 2017, 08:04:45 am »
I have Amazon Echo with some Hue lights and a lightstrip in the bedroom.

I'd like to not have the lights go off and start blinking when the alarm goes off.  :o
I'm not seeing where to turn this option off.

Best would be to gradually increase lighting to 100% but I'd settle for no blinking lights.  :)

I wasn't aware of flashing Hue lights when the alarm goes off being a standard feature. I'd check that you haven't got an IFTTT applet set up which does this, as IFTTT does allow actions to be triggered by the alarm going off in Alexa.

If you are referring to the blue lights flashing on the Echo when the alarm sounds, I don't think you can turn these off. If it is the Hue lights, then as StevenR suggests, you might have an unwanted IFTTT applet at work.

maybe your striplight is the dancing kind? LOL. Don't know about striplights but I know Christmas lights has a switch if you want it steady or blinking. Does striplights have that?
