Google Home $105 at NeweggFlash
« on: June 01, 2017, 03:16:50 pm »
An email today from Newegg Flash has a new White Google Home for $105 (not a refurb unit); free shipping, no tax for me.  So, what should I do? I ordered one at this low price!  Many here described features for the Home that are appealing; e.g. better sound than Echo and works with Chromecast, etc.

Check this link if you want one, too, at this price:

I'm waiting for a better sale price. With three Dots and a Google Home I can wait. However if you're not 100% satisfied with your new Google Home, I know where you can send it (and it's not back to Newegg) 😉 but I don't think that'll be the case. I think you'll really enjoy it.

Actually, based upon prices quoted here recently, $105 isn't bad.  Plus, I went through eBates and got 1% back.  Google sells 'em for $129, and regular Newegg price is $117.  I could be waiting quite a while to find it under $!00.

always good to have a backup when the amazon cloud goes down.  fortunately it does not happen too often.

Yes, a backup.  I mentioned that earlier.  Cause, like, we couldn't survive a couple hours without an AI to tell us what time it was ;)  Or worse, if we had to turn off our lights MANUALLY :o
Are you going to keep that drab oatmeal colored base or spring for something a bit more interesting?

Alexa can tell me my phone's battery status (via Mastermind...best App EVER).  GH can't.

Google Home can tell me the current humidity level.  Yes, that's important in the South.  Alexa can't.

Just in case there is someone that hasn't heard of Mastermind for Alexa

I will come up with something, I presume.  First inclination is to decorate it with stick-ons from a kid's book of stickers, or maybe some cool-design postage stamps so we are never out of stamps! LOL
