Echo recognizing non existent devices
« on: November 19, 2016, 05:21:28 pm »
Echo keeps recognizing 2 TP Link bulbs that I replaced with different bulbs along with the new bulbs.

IOW, I have 5 active TP-Link devices that all work as expected plus 2 offline  TP-Link devices  that don't exist, yet show up in the Alexa app. I "forget" them, and they disappear, but a few minutes later they return, without telling Alexa to "discover devices". The Kasa app only shows the 5 active devices, which is as it should be.

I've tried disabling Kasa and then re enabling, but devices keep showing up.

Any suggestions?

Marc

For some reason the old bulbs are still being reported by your TP-Link account when the Amazon servers contact it to perform device discovery for your Alexa account.  You might need to contact TP-link.
