Echo Technical Support / Re: Echo 1st Gens will not play music

Are you using a VPN? What internet provider do you have? Years ago when I had Time Warner internet, they blocked certain ports to prevent people from running servers. Some of the ports they blocked were for SMTP email, FTP transfers, and a few others. Perhaps searching Google for your ISP and blocked ports can reveal some clues.

My network is IPv4 only, so that's not it.

I think I got mine working as it should.  It appears it needed a firmware update!

My Echo Auto generally works perfectly now, but there will be days when reception can be poor. I chalk it up to atmospheric conditions and it loses the connection.

Just got my echo auto.Went thru the setup, all way well, played thru my cars Bluetooth audio.  It seems that after giving Alexa a couple of commands that work after that if I say Alexa the blue light goes on, then shuts and no commands are recognized.  In the Alexa app it say not connected but when I check phone’s Bluetooth settings it says it is connected.  If I unplug the echo auto and then plug back in it works again for a couple of commands and that’s it, same cycle begins again.  Any ideas what could be wrong?  I even deleted the device and then went thru setup again with the same results!

I just brought it in the house, connected it to power, worked for about 5 commands, did the same thing, blue light comes on then shuts as I am talking to it.

Echo Development & Technical Discussion / Reminders in routine
« Last post by Chris on September 13, 2019, 01:01:38 pm »
Alexa routine in the morning sets off my alarm and some other things.
Most importantly, reads my calendar for today and tomorrow.
Wonderful!
But why can't I get my reminders for the day in a routine?
Surely this can't be so difficult to implement?

Amazon Echo Discussion / AT&T Hotspot
« Last post by jwlv on September 12, 2019, 11:48:32 pm »
I've been using my ZTE Mobley w/ AT&T data service with Echo Dot in the car for a couple of years now. It provides 22GB of 4G LTE data for about $20 a month (comes to about $23 after taxes/fees). They stopped offering this about a year ago. But I'm grandfathered into this plan. The cool thing is I can move the ZTE Mobley to any other car I own at any time. It is just a dongle that plugs into the OBD port of any car.

But now AT&T is offering the same plan for $15/month but only if your car has built in WiFi. Many newer cars have this already built in. You just need to sign up for the service.

Here's the link if you want to find out more:

I came here to see if anyone has heard of a Dot (4th gen) coming out anytime soon.  I've seen others asking via a Google search but no answers.
