(http://)I wonder if you guys can help me. I've just received my brand new echo show and so far I’m really impressed however I can’t for the life of me get it to connect and control my Fire TV. I’ve looked at guides on the internet and they all say using the app go to the video music and books section, select video and then link the device. However on my app it just say music and books and doesn’t even give the option to link. Please help I’m starting to get frustrated.

Same problem here - driving me mad...
Every online guide says go to music, video & books
When music & books is all that is present
Annoyingly, i can see my fire tv under settings on the same damn alexa app!
Help please!

Exact same issue with Gen 2 Echo.
Everything else runs flawlessly. I can even get it to connect to the fire as a speaker.
But like you guys "video" seems to be ommited from my alexa app menu

Did you try discover devices command first? Coz they need to be connected first before you can see/control them. LOL.
Ok, I stand corrected. Was playing with my alexa app and in mine, firetv is there along with everything else. And yes it's in video music and books section. I don't have firetv so you guys must have out of date apps.
Did you guys updated your apps?
