Can I just say "echo play 'songname'" or "echo play 'album name'"? Or is this only compatible with Amazon Prime?
Thanks in advance

Don't know if this will help you much, but it's all I can validate at this time.
I have Amazon Prime Music as well as thousands of my own tracks on my hard drive and thousands of tracks uploaded to Amazon Music. The Echo looks at all of the repositories.
I said, "Alexa... play Fly by Night." The Echo responded, "Playing Fly by Night by Rush from Stephen's Music library." (Obviously, I had that track in my library).
I do not have the Moving Pictures album by Rush in my personal library, however, so when I said, "Alexa, play Moving Pictures.", the Echo replied, "Shuffling Moving Pictures by Rush from Amazon Prime Music."

That would work if you only have that one song done by one artist. I have multiple songs done by different artists. I have "Sway" by Michael Buble, Rosemary Clooney and 1 more artist. When I ask for Sway, I get Alexa shuffling my choices and playing all three in succession. That's too much swaying for me. :(

SteveM,
Thanks it does clarify a little ..
ScarlettPhoenix:
What if you just say "Alexa play away by Michael Buble"

That would work for some of the more modern stuff but I'm a music teacher and believe me, I've got megatons of classical works by Mozart which are broken down by which orchestra is playing them or who is conducting. My poor little brain can't remember all that. I do get picky on occasion.
