Alexa Tips & Tricks / Re: 2 wifi networks on Alexa?
« Last post by jwlv on September 06, 2021, 02:15:04 pm »
Yep, you sure can. Just set it up again using the new Wifi. Keep in mind that you should connect your smart phone to the same Wifi when you are setting it up, otherwise it'll just go back to the original one.

Alexa Tips & Tricks / 2 wifi networks on Alexa?
« Last post by Ashnook on September 06, 2021, 07:30:27 am »
How can I add another wifi network to my Alexa's?

I have one wifi network for the house and another for my garage but Alexa won't work in the garage. Can I add the garage network to my Alexa account?

Thanks, Brian

Amazon Echo Discussion / Echo Show Photographs "Art"
« Last post by allegoricus on September 06, 2021, 06:01:32 am »
I have "Art" selected  for the "Clock & Photo Display" choice on my Echo Show and love the works that are displayed.
How can I find the titles of the pictures that are shown?
I've searched a number of times (although not here) without success for the answer to this.
Thanks in advance,
Peter

My echo show 8 1st gen, no longer understands the voice command "Tell me more"
It used to respond with the relevant response, now I receive the response sorry I don't know that.

could be waiting too long to ask for more and it only hears part of it.   check your logs.  also try a power cycle on the echo by pulling the plug at least 40 seconds

Amazon Echo Discussion / Re: Echo Show wakes me up with weather report at 5:30
« Last post by eddified on August 25, 2021, 06:19:06 pm »
The answer to my conundrum was in "Routines". For some reason there was a routine that worked like this: whenever anyone anywhere in my house dismissed an alert on their Echo Dot, the weather report was given on the Echo Show. The solution was to disable that routine.

Amazon Echo Discussion / Echo Show wakes me up with weather report at 5:30
« Last post by eddified on August 23, 2021, 08:40:58 am »
My Echo Show has been waking me up. It seems to randomly give the weather report without being asked. It has occurred in the late evening (11-12pm) but usually it's only the morning. I've disabled notifications, put it on "do not disturb" mode, and deleted skills. I even factory reset the Echo Show. And it still has the urge to wake us up with an unwanted weather report at 5:30am. How can I stop it from doing this?

My other echo devices do not have this problem. Only the Show does it. In the app, under "settings -> notifications", there is no "custom notifications" and no "severe weather alert for [location]" (I think I deleted it weeks ago).

Echo Technical Support / Echo stopped finding playlists for my library
« Last post by DavisGentry on August 21, 2021, 04:26:31 pm »
I have one first generation Echo, and four third generation Echos, so I've been using them for a long while.  I have a substantial music library, almost all of which was purchased from Amazon, with maybe 90 songs uploaded from my PC from back when that was still possible.  I have always used my Echos to play music from my library, usually by way of playlists.  Last night I added songs to an existing playlist using the Amazon Music PC app, and since then the Echo cannot find any playlist.  I can start a playlist from the AmazonMusic app on my phone, but when I try to start one using the voice command to Echo it replies:

"Here's a station for you based on 'Playlist Name'" on Amazon Music

It starts playing, but the music does not encompass the playlist, and now includes ads for the first time ever.  Until last night it always replied:

"Playing 'Playlist name' on Amazon Music.

What has changed, and how do I change it back to get the correct functionality?

BTW - I have looked at other posts on a similar topic and tried some of the suggestions - no change.
