Title: Echo dot disconnecting from MBP's bluetooth
Post by: captaindj2006 on July 04, 2017, 09:36:40 am
Hi Everyone,

searching through the threads, I've found similar related issues with the Bluetooth connection. My apologies if I missed it.

I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015). When I go into pairing mode with the dot, it pairs for about 15 seconds before disconnecting.

This seems to be strictly a problem between these two devices, as I have maintained BT connections with my dot and other devices, along with my MBBP and other devices. So, I do believe the issue is the connection between these two.

With that said, I'm more than willing to try any suggestions.

Thanks in advance for any advice. I'm new here but seems like a great community!

How far apart are these two devices; that could be an issue.

Hi Mark,

18 inches.
If you have not already done so, use the Alexa browser app.  Make sure your MBP is showing as paired in the app.
Alexa app>Settings>Your DOT>Wireless>Blutooth-make sure your MBP is showing up.

On your MBP go to...
System Preferences>Bluetooth-make sure your DOT is at the top.
If you are using an OS older than Sierra - repair permissions & restart your comp.
Sierra - Run Disk Utility First aid & restart your comp afterwards.
