Title: Drop In for Alexa
Post by: mdougc on July 13, 2017, 01:21:18 am
I want to use Drop In for the 3 Echo devices in my house, as intercom type usage.
I do not want to call outside of my household.
I do not have a Smart Phone, so I use the PC Alexa App.

How do I set this up without a Smart Phone??
If a Smart Phone is necessary, why?
In fact, why is a Smart Phone necessary for setting up any Alexa-to-Alexa call?
Does it use my phone line?

Apparently the settings section is different between a smartphone and the web app. But it doesn't have to be a working phone. It could just be an unactivated phone or a tablet. This may just be a lag between the development teams at Amazon. Perhaps the web app team will catch up and add the menu option for Drop In.

Actually, your iOS app image is the iPhone app image.  The iPad app looks like the Web app image.
