Amazon Echo Discussion / Re: small extender mike for echo
« Last post by tuicemen on August 13, 2022, 05:12:59 pm »
I would like to hide a little microphone into the receptacle of the power outlet just outside the door of my apartment. The primary usage would be to open the door from the outside If I lock myself out. Obviously the Alexa remote does not work for that because one needs to push a button. Instead, the microphone would have to be always on. Is there any such product that could do this job?
You might as well leave your door unlocked. It would only take one child to hear you and the whole building would know they could gain access to your apt among other things.

Echo Technical Support / Re: Using drop in on phone and PC

if you do not see it, then you cannot do a drop in, however, you might be able to call if you have skype installed on the laptop,   you can link alexa to skype accounts.   It might be something to play around with.   I am not sure how to do it myself but seems to me it can be done.

Echo Technical Support / Using drop in on phone and PC

I have the Alexa app on both my phone and my laptop and have the drop in feature enabled and working on both. I can drop in on my Echo Show with either device to view my family room. Is it possible to drop in on the laptop from the phone? When I try to drop in from the phone, the laptop is not displayed as a device I can drop into.

Amazon Echo Discussion / Re: ECHO & DOT COMPLETELY RESET START AGAIN
« Last post by jwlv on August 05, 2022, 10:24:01 am »
I don't know if this has changed, but in the past if you move your Echo device to a different country/region, you need to contact Amazon customer service to reset the country/region. You can change it in the Alexa app device settings and it'll look like it has updated your region, but skills, content, and other stuff will still be from the original region.
