Title: 2nd Gen Echo Dot drops WiFi after Arris modem upgrade
Post by: MrNatcheral on February 20, 2020, 06:00:58 pm
I just upgraded Internet speed from Frontier, requiring a new Arris (NVG4438) modem.  Setup was successful, but the Dot constantly drops wifi when streaming content (Pandora, TuneIn, SiriusXM) to my stereo.

Frontier says the problem must be with the Echo Dot, since all other wireless devices connect successfully. Makes sense to me, but I don't know what's so different from my old Westell 7500 which never dropped vs. the new 2-line Arris.

Any thoughts?

did you do a power cycle with the dot?    unplug it for at least 40 seconds then plug back in.

Thanks. Yes, powered down several times hoping for a different outcome.  I don't understand why many devices work and one (the Dot) is spotty.  A technology glitch?
