Title: Using Echo from other rooms
Post by: MikeFromHC on January 31, 2016, 04:58:14 pm
I am lazy and don't want to push buttons.
However the Echo can't hear me from other rooms.
Not an elegant solution but a used baby monitor allows me to talk to Alexia in a normal voice from my bedroom and bathroom.

There is an Echo remote you can use for this purpose, and you can put in your pocket as you roam your house!  It's not free, though.

The remote has been discontinued by Amazon for some reason or other and you can't buy a new one on Amazon anymore.

I have one on my fridge that I don't use. One million dollars!

Yea, and I have one on my fridge, too.  A half million dollars and it is yours  (free shipping and gift wrapping, too!).

These offers kind of indicate how useful and essential the remote is for most of us'

Oops, wife told me she actually used remote to put something on shopping list this morning, so her likely yelling at Alexa would not wake me up.  Sorry, I have to retract my offer.  Getting a full night's sleep is definitely worth a half million bucks.

There's an app (android & IOS) called Roger which lets you talk to Alexa from phone or tablet anywhere. Works pretty well
