Ladies and Gents,
I have an amplifier that I want to use in combination with My echo dot, so I hooked it up with a simple 3.5mm headphone jack to 2 RCA cable, but that means the amplifier always needs to be on since the echo dot won’t use its own speaker anymore.
What I would like to achieve is that Alexa uses her own speaker to provide me with the answers of the questions I ask her, but plays my spotify music through the amplifier.
Buying another (streaming-enabled) amplifier is not an option.
Can I add an Echo input to achieve this?

You could hook up a bluetooth adapter to amplifier headphone jack and plug amp into an Alexa enabled power plug. When you want to use amp turn on amp by voice command and have bluetooth auto connect to adapter. Then just give Alexa command to shut off amp and it will revert to the Echo Dot.
