Title: Hey Alexa play Jazz
Post by: teksys on January 11, 2018, 08:44:56 am
Ok here’s what I’m trying to accomplish.

Hey Alexa play Jazz

1)   Turn on my receiver which is connected to my Harmony hub. <-that works using the harmony skill
2)   Then tune to a Jazz station using Amazon Music | Unlimited
3)   And have it default to my Everywhere group

Thanks, _paul

That’s the dream, but we aren’t quite there yet. You are describing a Routine, but right now only step 1 can be added to an Alexa routine. I don’t use amazon music, but at this point I think you are stuck with “Alexa, turn on receiver” then “Alexa, play jazz everywhere”. I do this with my setup using Spotify or Sirius XM, but I do have to specify the playlist or station i want.

How about jus going to the station, e.g.  Alexa, stream WWOZ
works for me, as does
    "smooth jazz"   "modern jazz quartet"
the only one I can't get is  "Tuba Skinny"
