Title: Volume Issues For Alarms on Show 5
Post by: planet@comcast.net on March 29, 2020, 02:46:19 am
I have a Show 5 and I have powered speakers connected to the Show 5. I generally listen to music to help me get to sleep. I set the volume at a soft and reasonable level, about 60%. I have recurring alarms set to play a song from Amazon Music to wake me up in the morning Monday through Thursday. When the alarm goes off by playing the pre-selected song, it plays the song at maximum, full volume on the Show 5, 100%--blasting me awake every morning. Nothing I do seems to allow the morning alarm volume level to be reasonable. I need help figuring out how to lower the volume level for the morning alarm. Any ideas?

Alarms and notification volumes are not set by voice. When you say, "Alexa set volume to 6" that only sets the volume for music and Alexa responses. For alarms, you need to go in the Alexa app on your phone > devices > Echo & Alexa > (select your device name) > sounds. There you will find a slider bar to set the volume for alarms, timers, and notifications. If you don't want to be blasted in the mornings, tick the option for Ascending Alarm to gradually increase the alarm volume.

how are you setting the alarm volume?  are you going to the alexa app, devices, your show 5, then sounds?
