Title: Where is the shopping data and app kept.. On the phone or the Echo itself.
Post by: ozstar on May 02, 2017, 02:52:44 am
Hi,

We are in Australian and it does work for over a year now.

Sometimes ihopping lost  takes ages for the app to show in the Galaxy Note 5 when out and about and I was wondering whether it should be quicker as it is actually on the phone, or whether it relies on the wifi signal as it is on Alexa itself.

not really sure of your question but, the app is on your phone, the data is on the cloud but syncs with your phone.   if you are out and about, and the app takes a while to open, it is because it is looking for a good signal to open whether it is wifi or mobile.  I found when out and about, it is better to turn off wifi and just let the mobile take over,   the echo app will open faster as long as it is getting a good signal.

I have the note 5 too  :-)

If you are trying to open your shopping list, it may be better to use a recipe from ifttt and have it email to you.   that is what I do.

Thanks for the reply.   Okay that's what I wanted to know.  Haven't heard about ifttt.

How do you do what you did as I get emails fine when out so that sounds good.

SOLVED.. Joined ifttt and did as suggested. It works !

Thanks :)
