Title: Questions about getting my L-2338 Alexa Echo Dot working
Post by: mikerho on April 02, 2021, 10:41:14 pm
Here are the two questions:
1) Do I absolutely have to have a cell phone for Alexa Echo Dot to work on my computer?
2) My phone is a Galaxy SIII (S3).  When I searched for the app in the Play Store, all it would find was how to setup and other helper apps.  Does this mean my phone does not support the main Alexa Echo Dot app?

Answers to these should either get me going or not waste any more time!

1- no. 2- yes. 3-you would find a more helpful answer(s) without demands.

If you are using a Samsung Galaxy S3, you should know that phone is a decade old. Whatever version of Android it is running is most likely outdated, defunct, and no longer supported. It would be no surprise if the Alexa app is not supported on whatever old version of Android the S3 uses. That means you won't be able to download or install the official Alexa app from Amazon. If you somehow manage to sideload it to your S3, it's probably not going to work anyway.
