Title: Newbie question...
Post by: Zaphod2514 on January 04, 2018, 06:13:42 am
...so be gentle :)

Is it possible to have the internal speaker of my echodot active as well as having a lead plugged into the 3.5mm socket?

Cheers.

O.K.
Just a follow up question.
When connected to a bluetooth speaker, can the internal speaker still be heard?

Zaphod.

The plug from an external speaker pushes a contact inside the echo, breaking the contact with the internal speaker. This is because the echo cannot handle two speakers. It's an internal thing to the dot and is used on many other devices that have an external speaker option like TVs. Any attempt to override may result in a damaged Echo. My advice, don't try it, even if your past the warranty.
