Title: Echo Radio Alarm
Post by: Onlinealex on January 30, 2020, 05:28:26 pm
Hi all,

Hoping someone can help. I’ve managed to figure out how to set my Echo Show 5 to wake me up with a radio alarm in the morning...

‘Alexa, wake me up at 6am with (radio name) on TuneIn’

But when the alarm triggers and the radio station plays it’s at almost full volume. I’ve tired turning the unit down before bed to 2 out of 10 and even playing the radio and turning it down low before setting the alarm, but every time it comes out so loud. I’ve even tried....

‘Alexa, wake me up at 6am with (radio name) on TuneIn at volume 2’

Any got any suggestions?

Thanks.
Alex

where did you set the volume?  on the device or in timer and alarms in the app?

In the Alexa app, there's a separate setting for alarm volume. This is not the same volume setting for other things like Alexa responses or when you play music. In the app, tap devices icon (bottom right), Echo & Alexa icon (at the top), select your Echo device, Sounds, then you'll see the different volume settings. The first setting is the volume for Alarms, Notifications, & Timers.

Create a routine triggered by a schedule and set the alarm time. The first action will be "Device Settings ==> Volume". The second action will be Music (select TuneIn as the provider). The alarm will always start with the volume specified in the routine.

if you you want, you can even include a third action "wait X minutes" followed by a fourth "set volume to...(a little louder than the first setting), and keep on going with extra similar steps until the volume is loud enough to wake up even the neighbors.
