Title: Using Echo to say how much time before a wake up alarm
Post by: xFlip on December 08, 2016, 02:19:19 pm
I want Echo to work as a bedside alarm clock for my frail mum who's got memory problems and dementia.  She can't tell what time she is getting up at.

I would like to set an alarm for 8am.  At 6am, when Echo is prompted it would say "It is 2 hours until the alarm wake up time".

Similarly, could Echo say at 9am: "The alarm wake up time was one hour ago" ?

Alexa will tell the time remaining until a timer elapses.  For instance,

You:  "Alexa, check my timer."
Alexa:  "You have one timer with about 4 minutes remaining."

But for alarms she can only list their settings.

You:  "Alexa, check my alarm."
Alexa:  "You have one alarm set for seven AM every weekday."
