Title: Echo Dot BT Issues
Post by: CajunGuy on December 05, 2017, 05:55:28 pm
This is my current configuration:
Echo Show - Living Room
Echo - Master Bedroom
Echo Dot #1 with BT Speaker - Kid Bedroom #1
Echo Dot #2 with BT Speaker - Kid Bedroom #2
Echo Tap - Patio
Here's my problem. I'd like to group Show, Echo, Dot #1, Dot #2. But when I do this Dot #1 and Dot #2 disconnect from their respective BT speakers and revert to onboard sound. At this point if I go to settings>Dot#1 or settings>Dot#2 I have no control on BT functions for either, can't disconnect or forget. If I remove the two Dots from the group they function as they should. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

CajunGuy,

Here is the reference for the start of the Bluetooth issues and please note they are significant:

https://www.amazonforum.com/forums/devices/echo-alexa/2246-speaker-selection-doesnt-work-bluetooth-not (https://www.amazonforum.com/forums/devices/echo-alexa/2246-speaker-selection-doesnt-work-bluetooth-not)

Given a great deal of experience in development and specifically with issues of this type I strongly suspect the issues are related (and worst-case they are remotely related but won't get addressed until dev actually reviews Bluetooth failures as a whole).

If you want to help please verify you have the same problem (you do) and then open a ticket with Amazon support with hopes that multiple tickets from different sources will lead to a response from Amazon.
