Title: Microsoft Phone
Post by: simard57 on March 03, 2015, 07:43:08 am
there are a few snarky answers but none truly useful
Any suggestions at how to take advantage of Echo's Shopping list feature from the newest Microsoft Phone OS (getting another phone is not an option). The Amazon.com/alexasetup page does not support the browser in MS Phone and none of the browsers that it supports are in the MS Store. Why a site is tied to specific browsers in 2015 is a mystery to me.

Well I found a way to access the Amazon Echo web app
I needed to set the Windows Phone browser to use the Desktiop instead of using the Mobile version of the site. The Alexa site worked with it setup this way.

hope this is helpful to others that are in my shoes

If you can get Evernote then you can use IFTTT to sync the shopping and todo lists to evernote.  We just set that up for my wife, she likes to use Evernote for keeping her shopping list.  It is a bit annoying that you can only add one item at a time via the Echo, gets rather tedious when you have a number of things to add to the list, but for the quick item its handy.
