Title: Fyi, New Hue (2nd Gen) Bulbs Not Yet Compatible
Post by: davisjj on October 12, 2015, 11:08:07 am
This likely is not a surprise to anyone, based on the compatibility list that Amazon maintains, but just fyi, the new Hue bulbs (800 Lumen color/white, 2nd gen) are not yet capable of being discovered by Echo.  I am guessing it is a simple update (perhaps a SKU filter?), but for now, just be aware if you get any of the new bulbs.  The old bulbs (750 lumen) are still available in some places (you can find sales too), but the new ones are starting to take up the shelf space.  These 2nd gen bulbs are the same ones that are included in the new starter kits with the HomeKit-compatible bridges.

The second gen Hue bulbs, as well as the second gen lightstrips, work with Echo now.
