Title: How can I make Alexa stop the music when I have an incoming call?
Post by: brook38 on September 03, 2020, 10:39:23 am
Hi all,
I am fairly new to Alexa but I have tried different scenarios to solve my problem, including routines or IFTTT.

The scenario is:
I am listening to music via Alexa. I get a call on my phone and Alexa announces it, lowering the volume of the music.

If I answer my phone, Alexa turns up the volume and continues playing music so then I need to shout 'Alexa stop' while on the phone already.
If I say 'Alexa stop' before answering, implying to stop the music, she hangs up the incoming call.

I am hoping to find a trick to have Alexa stop the music when I have an incoming call or when I answer it, without having to say 'Alexa stop' at any time, especially after having answered the call.

Thank you all in advance!

Before answering your phone, say "Alexa pause"
