Title: Using lights on 2 profiles... Is it possible?
Post by: MiniMe on November 28, 2018, 10:07:00 am
Hi... Thanks for the add.

I have set up 2 Echo Plus and 2 Philips Hue light bulbs. I have household setup with myself and my wife on the account. She has music unlimited, I don't. Switching profiles allows us to access music.

I have a Light Group set up with 2 bulbs in, One called Study Light, the other called Kitchen Light.

From my profile, I can control the group and individual lights but from my wife's profile, I can't access the group or the lights.

When I ask Alexa "Turn on Lights" her reply is "Sorry I didn't find a device named Lights"

When I ask Alexa "Turn on Kitchen Light" she replies "Sorry I didn't find a device named Kitchen Light"

Both commands work ok from my profile only.

I take it the lights can't be accessed by 2 profiles?

Think what I did was to log into other account set up lights link both your accounts together and then they should show up in both profile/ accounts.
Don't take my word for it as it was a while ago but sure that's what I did and it worked.
