Title: Random Calls to Alexa
Post by: Bandageboyz on July 24, 2019, 05:29:29 am
We have two incidents in the last two weeks where our Amazon Echo starts to ring with an incoming call from a number or person we don't recognise. It only rings for a short period of time and then strangely our landline then rings. If you try to answer either call there is no one on the end. We have recently moved to TalkTalk and this has only occurred since the move.

Two questions 1) how can someone ring you without them being in your contacts (and if they can how do you stop it) and 2) how do we list the incoming calls and who they are from - I can't find anything on the notification screen.

It's probably not random. Did you have your cell phone's bluetooth paired up with your Echo? If so turn it off. Since Echo devices cannot be used to answer phone calls via Bluetooth, that might be why it appears nobody is there.  And does your cell phone have automatic forwarding to another number (e.g. your landline)? If so, turn that off too.
