Title: Can't connect first gen echo to wifi

I have several echos and all of the newer ones connect quite quickly.  However, we have new wifi at my office and setting it up is not working.  I did the paper clip on the bottom of the device.  I know the device is old and it might need to be put to pasture.  But before I throw it out, does anyone have any tips?  Thanks.
