Title: Sound Quality
Post by: bill.100 on February 08, 2016, 08:59:44 am
Got Echo for Christmas, sits on tiled end table. I have trouble understanding Alexa when she is speaking. I am curious if there is an ideal surface (it appears that the speakers point down so I thought maybe the surface made a difference). Music is fine as far as I'm concerned. Enjoy using echo very much. Just hard to understand.

Yep, it is not a hi-fi device, for sure, kind of the quality of a pretty good clock radio.  Mine is also on an end table with a glass top.  Hard surfaces are good for reflecting sound which is needed with this device.  But, not too reflective, so keep it somewhat open all around and not jammed in a back corner near two walls. Amazon Echo website has placement tips, so see if you can find that info.
