Title: Question on setup

   I am helping a friend set up a pair of Echo3 speakers. I was having difficulty to register the Alexa app ( got the code, but could not get past that). So..I used my iPad to set everything up. And all was working when I left his house. He just called and said it stopped working. Is that because my iPad is no longer near the speakers?

There's no code involved with setting up the Alexa app or Echo devices (besides your Amazon login & password).
Whatever you did, it was not the correct way to set it up.
