Title: "turn off in 15, 10, 30 minutes" etc
Post by: RyanSs on August 30, 2018, 01:56:25 pm
I'm going cross-eyed reading on this and can't tell if I'm getting old/bad advice.

Is there really no way to simply say "Alexa turn off outside lights in 15 minutes" or any other time frame of choice without significant effort or restrictive behavior?

I'm using caseta light switches.

Thanks!

I just tried and it did NOT work.  That seems like such a simple feature.  Google Home doesn't have it either.

"Alexa Set a Sleep timer for the Patio Lights for 30 minutes"???? Maybe that would do it? I have not tried it but I use sleep timers all the time for my pandora... just not for my lights... Haven't gone into that yet... I use the Hue app to turn off lights at night by a routine right now... I may try what you're asking for as well... I'll let you know if I succeed.

This has everything to do with the app that controls your smart plugs and nothing to do with Alexa.

I use Kasa app with TP Link plugs.  It is in the app: there is a timer in app, I used it and it works.
