I have the Alexa app on my Kindle Fire, strong wifi signal. Sometimes works well but regularly is offline.
Why does this happen and how do I reconnect?

It sounds like the Echo is having trouble staying connected to your network. Try unplugging your router/modem for about 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in again (you might as well unplugged the Echo too).
See if that resolves the issue.

Agree. People should remove power from their system monthly and restart; especially the modem and router or a combo unit of both. To make it easier to do mine, my router has an on/off switch but modem doesn't, so they are both plugged into an add-on wall power switch; same goes for devices connected to network. Fixes lots of problems. Not a good idea to just set 'em and forget 'em.
