Title: Alexa's ears are more sensitive lately
Post by: jwlv on July 30, 2015, 09:38:31 pm
When we first got Alexa several months ago, she would never have any trouble hearing her own name.
But it seems that recently, when we're talking amongst ourselves, Alexa would sometimes butt in and say something, even though no one said anything resembling "Alexa."

Has anyone else noticed this just recently? As far as I can tell, this started happening about 2 weeks ago. So that would make it right around mid July. That's when the 2606 software update came around.

I did some testing with mangled versions of "Alexa" and found she would often respond to words like "Alexi" "Alexandra," etc.

Just found this. Yes, I find that sometimes she replies to absolutely nothing being said. She also replies to the TV if anything like her name comes up Kinda cute. She will most definitely reply if they are doing the Echo add which uses her name. Funny too.
