Title: Macbook Pro bluetooth connectivity to Echo
Post by: nadannath on November 01, 2015, 09:08:39 pm
I have an Amazon Echo device that I'm trying to Bluetooth pair my Macbook Pro to. All my other devices (iPad, Android phones, etc.) are able to pair to the Echo just fine.

But when I try to pair the MBP to it, the Echo doesn't even show up in the list of discovered devices.

I tried this when I was running the Yosemite (10.10) version and now even with EL Capitan (10.11), the issue still exists.

I've opened a ticket with Echo support, but thought I'll post it here to see if someone else has faced a similar issue.

Thanks in advance!

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Did you do this?

Right before you connect the Mac's BT, ask Alexa to pair Bluetooth.  It will tell you it is doing so and what wifi signal to look for.  Now, set your Mac into pairing mode.  They should pair.
