Title: Echo Linked to Fire TV doesn't work
Post by: wyliec2 on September 03, 2017, 11:28:17 am
New Forum Member - went back several pages and couldn't find this exact issue.

I have Echo Dot version 2 and latest Fire TV stick.  I use the Alexa app to link the Dot and Fire TV and it indicates linked.

When I tell Alexa to play a movie, it says it's getting it but nothing happens on Fire TV - then Alexa says there is a problem communicating with the Fire TV "Check network and power connections".

The Fire TV works fine from the Fire TV remote, plays movies and is on my network.  I have tried linking three different Echo devices - they all find and link successfully to the Fire TV but report the same problem "communicating" with the Fire TV.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank in advance!

FYI - I contacted Amazon Customer Support and was told there is a problem with Fire TV that Amazon is working on.  It will be fixed in the near future.

As-of this afternoon, Echo Dot is now controlling Fire TV.
