Amazon Echo Discussion / Echo will not go into setup mode

My Echo Plus was originally in an "everywhere group".
I tried to pair it to my Samsung and after that it would not do anything but spin light blue/dark blue . I have powered it down and left it for days, pushed a paperclip into every small hole hoping to reset, nothing changes no matter what I do. it will not go into setup mode.
If I go to devices in the app, it shows the echo not connected to the Network. If I click that device, it takes me to the "No Orange Light?" page and tells me what to do to get the unit into setup mode. None of those button combinations do anything, it continues to spin light blue/dark blue.
I would appreciate suggestions, thanks... Gary

Aha, it does not show this is you are adding to a list OTHER than the Shopping one. So make a new list, call it Grocery or maybe the name of your supermarket, and use that instead of the Shopping one.

I suspect this is not a problem to be solved on each device, as the notifications are going out globally to all devices. Seems like a feature or skill, but searching has yielded no results so far.

home content is under settings on the show screen.

I may have found the answer. Under More/Settings/Notifications, I found "Joe Biden-Following," which I clicked to find "Receive news alerts from select sources through Alexa," under which "Send to Echo Devices" was set to "On." I turned it off. If it continues, I will update.

show or dot???   if show, look under home content on the screen and notifications in the app.    If dot, just check the notifications in the app.

Settings... find the one that takes care of Content on your device, and turn off all types of unwanted content. You can actually ask google for more specific stuff I think, but suffice it to say they always add content types and crap when they do new updates. I get them on 3 devices with video and the rest don't give me trouble.

for clarification, are you trying to connect the dot to the transceiver via bluetooth so it will transmit the signal via bluetooth to speakers?   are you able to connect the dot with wire instead of bluetooth?   are you wanting both the phone and the dot connected at the same time?
