Title: Controling volume in a routine on an echo spot
Post by: Chuck43 on January 26, 2019, 07:35:38 pm
Is it possible to set the volume level in a routine on an echo spot? I have a routine for my spot that turns off the lights and plays music for 30 minutes at bedtime. I now have to turn the volume down using the - button on the spot but in the morning I have another routine that turns on the lights at x:xx A.M. and plays a weather report. The problem is I can't hear the report clearly because the volume level on the spot is set too low. Ideally I'd like to control the volume from within the routine, is this possible?

I do recall seeing an option to set the volume on a routine.

Yes, it's possible. That's what I'm doing in my "Good night" routine so it replies with at a low volume not to wake everybody sleeping if it was used to play music loudly during the day. The routine later on sets to volume again to a understandable volume so next day's songs are played and heard :)

EDIT: Sorry, just noticed "Echo SPOT". What I wrote was for a Echo Plus/dot. Don't know about the Spot.

The Device Settings > Volume action in a Routine works fine to change the volume on my Echo Spot exactly the same as on my Echo Dot.

Thank you StevenR, I've been attempting to figure this out all week. Never thought to go into device settings.
