Title: Newbie beginners question
Post by: Thequeenscheese on January 20, 2018, 09:35:54 am
Hello new here and to alexa,

we have an echo and echo dot in the bedroom, I'm trying to set up the multi room music feature I've made a group using the standard everywhere title for the 2 devices but getting alexa to understand "play group everywhere" seems ridiculously difficult one minute she'll do it the next she's looking for a station for a group (presumably) called everywhere or similar, on the same note does it matter which device we command to then play the playlist or chosen music from?

Thanks in advance, many other questions to follow I'm sure, John..

Like just now for eg, the missis did a usual woman thing and unplugged the dot not while the echo is playing I cannot get them to play on the group?

This seems pretty complicated to achieve when it feels as tho it should be a lot easier and simpler process..

Not trying to be rude, but making your posts easier to read might help with getting answers... IE, use more punctuation, shorter sentences and more to the point.

I for one can't quite follow them  :o

I write as a "Computerate" 94 year old who has recently fallen for the joys of Echo Dot but is also frustrated at my inability to get it to do what I want !

I have lots of Kindle books that Echo Dot reads with no problem other than it won't go to any specific chapter.

I can go to the next or previous chapter with no problem.

What I can't do, is go to a chapter of my choice

Any help please ?

Many thanks !

It seems you can only do this from within the app.
