Title: TP-Link smart plug question and IFTTT
Post by: itsjustmeee on April 28, 2017, 12:39:59 pm
I'm sure there's a simple explanation for this, but I'm trying to set up a routine on IFTTT with my TP-Link smart plug. When I go to the IFTTT app, it asks me to sign into "mydlink Home" account. It appears from the mydlink website, you have to either have a camera or a router to sign up (https://ca.mydlink.com/content/notreg). When I got my smart plug, I did download the Kasa app and succesfully create an account, but it appears to be something different because IFTTT won't let me log on with that email and password. Has anyone been able to figure this out?

Thanks.

IFTTT doesn't have any built-in support for TP-link smart plugs, only D-Link and WeMo.
There is an article here with a workaround:
