As a quick experiment I paired a mac mini to my echo, and it seemed to pair just fine. OSX 10.9.5 saw the echo as an output device. Hit play on iTunes and got nothing. Unpaired it, and went to lunch.
Has anyone paired the echo as a bluetooth speaker with something other than phone, or tablet? Or will it be a waste of my time to fiddle with it some more?
TIA

I have paired my Mac Mini (late 2012 running 10.10.3) and it is playing iTunes music great.
This is pretty awesome, new way to use my Echo.

Thank you for the reply, that's encouraging. I had the same problem with Windows 8.1, connected, but no sound.
I must not be holding my tongue right. lol

Ok i tried it again, and this time it worked. On OSX, it just connected and worked. With Windows 8.1 it took a trip to sound in the control panel and manually setting the Echo as the primary device.
I had shutdown everything because of the thunderstorms around here... maybe a clean power on start, was what I needed to get it to work for me.
