Hi, I bought a new echo dot.
When the power is connected, the light comes on.
and Then the power is turned off.
I need Help.. :'(

Unplug for FIVE minutes then power up and see how it goes. If it still doesn't work call Echo customer support.

Echo Dot requires a USB power plug that supplies 1.8 Amps of power. Make sure you are using the one that came with your Dot. If you used your own USB plug, it is unlikely that it provides 1.8 Amps. Most USB plugs only provide 0.5 or 1.0 Amps.
As discussed many times in this forum, what you described is classic behavior when the Dot doesn't get enough power. It turns on, spinning blue ring, dies, and restarts.

FWIW I got a new one during the sale and it did exactly the same thing. They sent me a new one and I sent the old one back. New unit works fine (except that I can't set up intercom because I can't get the proper version of the APP w/o a cell phone - That's just a tweak. They'll get there. Otherwise the honor will fall to which ever of the kids visits first)

That's a strange power strip you are using in that Youtube video. It does not look like a standard 2-prong 110V AC outlet.
