Title: Each Dot wall box
Post by: echodotbox on August 15, 2017, 06:54:14 am
Hi Everyone,

I wanted to see your thoughts on a new product I am bring to market and i am keen to get views and any ideas we can incorporate into future updates.

I have produced an echo dot wall box, like a back-box for a light switch or socket.

The echo dot fits snuggly inside the unit and incorporates sound flutes around the edges to help aid sound transmission forwards towards the user.

The unit can be recessed snuggly inside walls, ceilings, counter tops etc for a smooth clean look with no exposed wires giving that clean look everyone likes.

We will be selling these commercially and have just begun taking orders for the first batch. All will be finished in white but we can change colours if people require.

There isn't anyone in the market that did this and i have five units at my home controlling the entire house, so wanted a cleaner more professional installation.

Hope you like the idea and if anyone wants one please message me and i can send you photos and further details.

Thanks
Dom

I can’t think of anyplace I’d use something like that but I can see where others might. I think it would need to NOT have any (negative) impact on the Echo’s mic array. Nor should it make Alexa sound like she’s speaking through a paper towel tube. Last but not least, if the price point isn’t less than the cost of an Echo Dot, that would be a dealbreaker for me.

Yhere is a similar device like this called My Dottie, we use in a bathroom wall socket.  Check it out at Amazon.  Very handy, easy install, no exposed wires, and no mounting into a wall, etc.

I remember him. I actually saw his website someone commented his product idea was stolen and they were selling it. It actually looks like the Dottie.
