Amazon Echo Discussion / Re: anyone get anything new this black friday

Until Amazon wakes up their tablets a little... I'll stick with what i have. They could double their processor speeds and RAM and it would at least be a faster experience... the ones I have are getting slow due to content requirements in many ways. Had one of the 10" tablets brick on me the other day (Had 4, now down to 3). Tore it to pieces and nabbed all the data parts and shredded them... could have replaced the battery, but don't really need so many anymore. All the grandkids are coming around a lot less... no need to replace. I would likely buy the 21 inch Show, and probably will if My father in law stays permanent at the rehab/nursing place... I can have my 3rd bedroom back for an office/spare bedroom. Other than that, nothing new has come along that makes me want to own it... I like my old SPOT better than the new ones... and the echo dot with clock suffices for any newer ones with clocks. Kinda been a couple of dead years for me and Echo.

Nope. Didn't get a thing this year. I did buy an RV extension cable, not because it was Black Friday. I just happened to need an RV extension cable at the time.

Black Friday is here and there have been a lot of great sales for echo devices.   Anyone do any upgrading or adding to their smart home?

All I got was three buttons, two Lutron and one Hue.   No new echo devices.  I do not see me getting any more echo devices.

My short experience with show 5 and the intermittent adds thrown in with my favorite photos has me turned against this product type. In case the advertisement of show 21 is representative you might have half screen covered by adds.

was wondering if they were going to announce a new device this month.    A bigger screen just to make sure you see their ads.   Priced at 400 bucks.

Amazon on Wednesday introduced the Echo Show 21, its largest Echo Show yet. The smart display comes with double the viewing area of the existing Echo Show 15, which is also getting an upgrade.

Google Home / love the way things work sometimes

Here I am relaxing in the recliner and decided to set a timer for something.   I have one mini, six foot from me and another about eight both in direct line of sight.   Guess which one responds?   The hub in the back bedroom about 30 foot way, in a far corner that is not in line of sight.   Oh well, I guess the other two just wanted to sleep a bit longer.
Just got to remember to keep the bedroom door shut so it don't happen.

I am not blaming google because alexa does the same thing when I leave the bedroom door open, and I have three of them close to the recliner.   I guess it has something to do with the layout of the apartment and the ceiling fan  :-)

if you still have access to the account, just de-register it and set it up again using your account.   there are no shortcuts.

Echo Technical Support / Any shortcut to change household ownership

Due to a divorce I am left with the house and all related automation.
The amazon support has no solution other than keeping the account of my EX.
Without concern we initially used her amazon account jointly.

The problem is that I manage our divorce without help in 60 days but Amazon doesn't plan for this.
Any practical suggestion would be great.
Whenever I try to make a change to some base setting amazon requires owner permission and I get either stuck or have to answer questions from her to get approval.
